I studied art and ceramics into my early twenties but a demanding career left little time and energy to focus on creativity. Friends asked ‘why don’t you paint at weekends?’ The reality is, that once you start to paint or sculpt…it’s all consuming. You can’t just switch on and off like a tap.

Two years ago I returned to my early loves, focussing on figurative ceramic sculpture. I took courses at the Sydney Sculpture school, the Tom Bass Sculpture School and the National Art School and devoured every thing I could find online (and trust me, it’s a lot). I use all types of clay, but gravitate towards porcelain, bequiled by its luminosity and the juxtaposition of fragile beauty and underlying strength.
